Veteran actress Vilma Santos finally speaks up about the hurtful accusations and bashings targeting her son Luis Manzano, actor and host.
During her interview in Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Santos wasn’t able to control her emotions when asked about the controversy that involves her firstborn.
According to Santos, things aren’t easy, and she’s sorry but it’s not easy. She also added that sometimes, it’s difficult when your job requires you to do well and show everyone that you are comfortable when the truth is, you are hurting deep inside.
The actress also said that for now, the only thing she can say is that she knows her son more than anyone else. She also stated that her son is only trying to help, and not duping other people.
“Kaya ‘yung mga nagsasalita at naghuhusga sa kanya, dahan-dahan lang kayo. Walang ibang nakakakilala sa anak ko kung hindi ako. And I know he is such a good person,” Santos added.
When asked what she prays to God, Santos said that she is only asking for guidance at this point, guidance not for herself but for herself. She also appealed to the bashers to direct their hurtful words toward her instead of her son.
She also asked her friends for prayers, adding once again that things aren’t easy. While she stated that she is fine, she seeks prayers because she knows her son and that everything will end because she knows him.
To her son, Santos said, “You will be fine, anak. Maraming nagmamahal sa iyo and the truth will prevail. Alam ng mga tao ‘yan. Tumutulong ka, anak, hindi ka nanloloko and I love you. I love you, Lucky.”
Just last week, the NBI or National Bureau of Investigation issued a subpoena for Manzano after his name was involved in a suspected investment scam.
While the Flex Fuel management defined these allegations, they admitted that the COVID-19 pandemic affected their business. Manzano already sought NBI’s help earlier after he was approached by some investors, asking for their money back. He also added that the company also owes him over P66 million.
